Michael Is 4!!

Well, it is safe to say that Michael's 4th birthday was a fun filled day with swimming, a picnic and a "Cars" themed birthday party!  I had to stop and look around in disbelief that he is actually four years old.  I say this repeatedly but I cannot believe how quickly time flies and I wish that just once it would slow down for just a minute.

We set up a refreshments stand, a movie screen and caution cones for Michael's big drive in movie party.  It was beautiful outside so we spent the whole night out in the yard.  Of course his party wouldn't be complete without Chik fil A nuggets to enjoy!  Michael LOVES the color green so he loves Chik Hicks from the first Cars movie.  Krystal made a fabulous green Chik cake for Michael and he would not stop talking about it.  It is safe to say that he thoroughly enjoyed it!

After dinner and cake, the kids sat down (for just a second) so that they could watch Cars on the outdoor screen.  But, bubbles and running in the yard was too much fun to pass up for Michael and his friends.  It was a great day and my sweet 4 year old went to sleep a little bigger and very tired.

Austin's Baby Dedication

"Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children, a reward from Him"
-Psalms 127:3

We had a very long and family filled weekend for Michael's fourth birthday and then Sunday for Austin's baby dedication.  I am thrilled with the way God has shaped my family and so glad that He didn't listen to me.  It is just another reminder about how amazing God's plan is and how short sighted mine can be.

Sunday morning we all gathered back at my house for pictures and then headed to church for Austin's baby dedication. It is so sweet to see babies at church with families making the dedication to raise their children with Christ as the center of the home.  There is no greater responsibility than that of a parent, something that I take seriously and do with great pride. We will raise our children to follow Christ and to live a life with purpose, as an example of the sacrifice God made for us; His children.

Ten Months Old

Darling Austin, you are getting to be such a big boy.  Or as your brother would say, "Biga Boy".  Now that you are mobile, my life has gotten a bit more hectic, but it's fun to watch you try to catch up with Michael and Ava.  So once again, let's see what you are up to now:
  • You are pulling up on things and desperately trying to stand on your own.  I don't think you're quite there yet but it could be a matter of days!
  • You do not like to be left in a room alone.  Now that you can follow us, you crawl as fast as you can to get there.  Why can't Michael and Ava just stay in one room? It seems you get so frustrated because they run around and you can't.
  • You used to cry and through a little fit when Ava would take a toy from you.  Now, you just get mad.  It has changed from your feelings being hurt to you just being plain upset that she has wronged you.  You have realized that to keep up with your bigger brother and sister, you have got to be heard.
  • You do not want to eat baby food anymore!  You LOVE avocados and bananas for sure.  You now love sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots and of course pancakes.  As long as I cook it, and only dice it you're happy. None of that mushy stuff.  I think we'll try blueberries next.
  • You have four teeth and are such a snaggle tooth.
  • I am still blessed at how well you sleep!  Thank you for loving to rest!  If only I could remind your brother and sister how sweet slumber can be, maybe I might get some for myself!

You have grown so much and while I am sad to see that you are almost one year old already, your Daddy and I are so excited to see you run and play with Michael and Ava. Our sweet family is complete and we are gearing up for the next phase of our lives!
