SeaWorld

Sea-World-011_thumb2Sea-World-004_thumb1It has been a while since my brother’s family and mine have been together.  We have had two babies since the last time we did something together!  So, when Matt was asked to preach at a church nearby, we jumped at the chance to get together.  So what else is there to do in 103 degree heat?  Nothing but head to SeaWorld.  2022651921166212_thumb1IMG_7425IMG_7427Sea-World-055_thumb1IMG_7437IMG_7433IMG_7434Sea-World-035_thumb1Sea-World-037_thumb1Sea-World-032_thumb1Sea-World-040_thumb1Sea-World-044_thumb1Sea-World-048_thumb1Sea-World-051_thumb1IMG_7532IMG_7537IMG_7540Sea-World-019_thumb1I have to say once again that I have a new found respect for all the times my parents packed us up and headed to some sort of amusement park.  It took a lot of preparation and sunscreen but one look on Michael’s face at the sight of Shamu and it was totally worth it.

It was so sweet to watch Quinn and Michael all day long, like long lost buddies.  They were so sweet together and it made me realize we don’t get together often enough.  Ava was such a trooper, sleeping through most of the day, waking long enough to eat and take a dip in the Bay of Play.  And Nash, well that little boy is just a ball of sweet droll and fun.  I think he has fun no matter where he goes!11Sea-World-150_thumb2Sea-World-077_thumb2Sea-World-165_thumb1Sea-World-163_thumb1

Michael was so excited to see Elmo and Cookie Monster on stage that when the music was over he ran right up to them and gave them hugs!  No fear this little one he was just too excited! 10389751166212_thumb2IMG_7453IMG_7504Sea-World-144_thumb1Sea-World-141_thumb1I know my parents were as exhausted as we were when we finally headed for home.  Ava slept all night long until about 8 am!  It was such an experience and I am so glad we could spend it together, even if the dolphins were not cooperating.  I think one of my favorite moments was when Michael saw Shamu jump out of the water.  He kept doing the hand sign for more over and over.  Don’t worry Michael, there will be lots more to come!

Two Months Old

136389802214Ava Elisabeth you are two months old and it just seems impossible how much you’ve grown.  You were 6lbs, 3oz at birth and now you weigh 11lbs.  You were 18 inches at birth and now you are 24 inches.  You are growing at a rapid pace and I just can’t seem to keep up.  Believe it or not, as big as I think you’ve gotten, you are still just below the 50th percentile.  That’s nuts to think that more than 50% of babies your age are bigger than you!429110902214735320902214726389802214183010902214270210902214311210902214388110902214You wear three month sizes and the crazy thing about that is it seemed to happen over night.  One day you were in newborn sizes and then the next nothing fit!  It never ceases to amaze me how fast babies grow!

You roll over and smile so much!  You just light up and love the song “You are my sunshine” just like your brother.  You are still my good little sleeper, you go to sleep around 10 or 11 and sleep until 5 or 6 waking for a brief snack and then sleeping again until 8.  Thank you! You are a very hungry little girl and still want to eat every 2 hours except at night.  390210902214403610902214414010902214198110902214

You smile like crazy when Michael talks to you and when you are upset, he lets everyone know and he tells you that “Mommy’s coming!”.  He tries to put your binkie in your mouth but you don’t seem to like that very much.  You have the sweetest little alto voice, your sounds are just adorable.  You are still my little billy goat making all sorts of funny noises.  Your hair never fell out or got thinner, it just keeps on getting thicker and thicker and is still that beautiful dark brown.

You get more beautiful everyday which seems impossible and I fall more in love with you everyday.  I’m blessed you are my daughter and I just hope I can keep up with you lovebug!975179802214

Fourth of July

IMG_0563 Fourth of July was a fun and very hot day for the DePalermo household.  Michael, Ava and I woke up early to head out and meet the DePalermo family in Seguin for the parade.  Lulu came over and went with us.  At first I was worried about Ava and how she would handle the parade but we put her in the stroller and she promptly went to sleep.  Little trooper.

I don’t know what Michael loved more, hanging out with his cousin Caitlyn or all the fire trucks!  We got to see Casey and Colby in the marching band and even some school buses! To make it even more perfect, cousin Troy bought Michael a snow cone that he nursed so lovingly until he dropped it on the ground.  Poor guy.  After the parade we went home to rest and then headed to Lulu and Craig’s for some bbq.  It was fabulous brisket and Michael loved playing with his Uncle Craig.

It was a fun day and a first for Ava and Michael.  I can’t wait for many more parades and soon, I know Michael will probably be in one!
